This event wasn't memorable because I have won. But because of the experience I've earned and most importantly the friendships I've made.

Four months ago, an announcement for Gemalto got talent was made. I excitedly searched and suggested talents that my team mates could perform but all of them were rejected.

One sand art video at YouTube caught my attention, I wanted to learn how she does it but I could hardly even draw. Then God tapped my shoulders and said: "Child, you were praying for a changed in your lifestyle, why not try this?". I gathered the materials to start. I took a step further, I promised myself to join the audition if I can draw a human image. The deadline for submission ended before I even start practicing. Luckily my persistent Father gave me another chance, rec club extended the deadline. My impulsive self took this opportunity as a sign and motive to pursue this art learning.

Weeks passed by I could draw the usual landscapes whenever I have pen and paper in my hand. And I was able to include human image during my audition. I felt accomplished eventhough it was very raw.

Two weeks later, a congratulating email states that I have a month to practice for finals. It was very unexpected that I needed to read a few times to convince myself that it wasn't a hoax. It was during this crucial moments, I drew strength from the efforts and support that my team showed me. I needed to deliver a good performance or else their time and efforts will be wasted.

I came up with a few themes unfortunately my committee felt it was crappy. I blurted out of nowhere: "How about titanic sand art ?". Who would have thought that this is what we were looking for. This was again God's sign, I felt it too. So we decided to stick with this for the last two weeks of intensive practice of at least four hours a night until the final day.

Finally came Nov 4, 2011, this is the make or break day. Surprisingly I wasn't so nervous on that day. I knew we have given our all and the rest I surrender to God. All contestants were good, I just sat and prayed that everything goes as rehearsed. I heard the cheers of the crowd after my performance, I am glad they enjoyed it. I was shaking as I went back to my table. It wasn't because I was nervous, rather I could hardly control the joy and excitement of fulfilling a dream. And it is all thanks to everyone.

Let me take this opportunity to mention a few people: HS - the best QC king for being very honest and straightforward. YH - for the box, light, comments. Ben - I love your dramatic colorful lights and the time and effort for countless music revisions. My family, team and friends for the support and prayers. And thanks to Esther for recording the video :)

And remember, everyone has sleeping talents and/or talents to be honed. Time to discover your own...  Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed (Psalms 16:3)
